The Gold Room Story
In my favourite corporate job, we had a Gold Room; a quiet space for important conversations. It became the place where I conducted all my development planning sessions.
While other managers were fighting against the tide and creating basic development checklists to tick off their admin, I was investing time into five-year career conversations with my team.
Why spend the time on that when the to-do list is piling up? I believe people are most productive when they’re truly authentic and present in their roles. The Gold Room became about creating a space where people felt genuinely understood and supported; a place where we uncovered what each person is truly capable of.
This is more than a nice-to-have – it’s a strategy for sustainable business success. Like the team that jumped from achieving 44% of target to smashing 136% of target after a role restructure, personal development planning and coaching.
Not every manager can invest this time in their people. But every person in your team deserves it. That's why I recreated the Gold Room philosophy as a modern sanctuary for honest conversations and strategic progress. Nina’s Journey: Beyond the Credentials
I believe everyone deserves to thrive in their work. But too many good people waste their potential because they're in roles that don't fit their strengths and values, or they can't see how their current job connects to their future.
That’s why taking the time to understand and nurture our own unique set of skills is so important.
My own path has been anything but simple. From humble beginnings, I too have been caught up in the rat race of corporate life as I scaled the ladder; constantly striving for more, with endless to-do-lists and no time to spend on the things that really mattered.
Then came the curveball.
Being diagnosed with cancer forced me to examine what really mattered. It stripped away titles and busyness and made me focus on helping people live authentically, before a crisis forces them to question everything.
I now use my professional and personal experiences to help others uncover their strengths, align with their own values and build meaningful impact in their work and lives.
My mission is to create a space where individuals, leaders and teams can reconnect with who they truly are – beyond roles and expectations – so they can grow, lead and live with clarity, courage and purpose.
